Got 60 Minutes This Weekend?

Taylor Swift is profiled on CBS’ 60 Minutes this Sunday. The singer speaks candidly about her fame, admitting that she thinks of a “million people” as she gets dressed in the morning. In terms of being a role model, Taylor says that it would be “really easy” for her to say, “I’m 21 now, I do what I want. You raise your kids.” However, she realizes that isn’t “the truth of it” and warns, “Every singer out there with songs on the radio is raising the next generation. So make your words count.”

Artists who perform or are featured on the CMA Awards each year usually see a boost in sales the week after the show, and this year was no different. The Band Perry, who picked up the Single, Song and New Artist trophies, saw their album sales jump 112-percent from the week before. Other artists that saw a sales increase post-CMA Awards include Thompson Square (+96%), Eric Church (+61%), Jason Aldean (+53%), Blake Shelton (+52%) and Sara Evans (+52%).

Glen Campbell’s 1975 album, Live in Japan, will be released worldwide for the first time on January 24th. Since its original release, the package has only been available overseas. It includes Glen’s own material along with select covers, including Conway Twitty’s “It’s Only Make Believe” and Paul Anka’s “My Way.”

Miranda On TV Tonight

Last week may have been monumental for Miranda Lambert, who not only celebrated her 28th birthday, but she was also crowned the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year. How do you top that? Why make the TV rounds, of course. Miranda will perform “Baggage Claim” on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno this evening. The tune appears on her Four the Record album, which also made history last week when it debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. Miranda said, “It’s kinda crazy, you know, you, you hope when you get into this business that you can make history, and to actually see it happening is, it’s a dream come true. And, I’m, I’ve worked my butt off and it’s like, ‘Thank you, God. It’s payin’ off.’” Wednesday, Miranda will perform on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, before heading to Hollywood for ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! that night.

Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean and Taylor Swift were among the winners at the Billboard Touring Awards in New York City on Thursday night. Kenny was honored for top touring package for his Goin’ Coastal Tour with the Zac Brown Band, Uncle Kracker and Billy Currington, which sold 1.3-million-tickets this year. Jason claimed the Breakthrough category, and Taylor’s Speak Now World Tour earned the award for Concert Marketing and Promotion.

The Oaks Are Finally Members of the Opry

The Oak Ridge Boys were inducted into the Grand Ole Opry Saturday night by Opry member Jimmy Dickens. The legendary country music group made up of William Lee Golden, Joe Bonsall, Richard Sterban and Duane Allen was invited to join the Opry last month. The group was surprised on stage by a video greeting from former President George Bush who explained that he has been a fan since they performed “Elvira” on the White House lawn.

Taylor Swift won Teen Choice Awards in five of the six categories she was nominated in during last night's awards show. Taylor won Choice Music: Female Artist, Female Country Artist, Country Single for “Mean,” Choice Break Up Song for “Back to December,” Choice Red Carpet Fashion Icon and she was honored with the Ultimate Choice award. Actress Emma Stone presented Taylor with the awards. In other country categories, Jason Aldean won the Choice Music: Male Country Artist award and Lady Antebellum picked up the Choice Music: Country Group surfboard. Taylor was the only country artist to show up in person.

Ronnie Dunn has officially joined a new kind of “million-air’s club.” The legendary singer-songwriter has garnered more than 60-million performances of his extensive music catalog and was recently honored with several MillionAir awards. Though Ronnie names “Neon Moon” as his favorite work, he admits that it was “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” that let him know that he was onto something special as a songwriter.

Keith Urban’s first fragrance has been in the works for some time now. Finally, the cologne has a name, Phoenix. Keith said that he didn’t name it after himself because the last thing he wants to “make a man do” is have to say, “I’m wearing Keith Urban” when asked about his cologne. This is Keith’s first fragrance but he knows a thing or two about them, admitting that he has been a Brut man in the past and more recently he’s worn Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana and Doir for men. Phoenix is available for pre-order now.

Tuesday Newsday

Dolly Parton will be returning to the big screen with Queen Latifah for a new gospel-choir movie, Joyful Noise. The story will follow Dolly and Queen Latifah as they are forced to work together to save a gospel choir after budget cuts threaten to shut down the program. Dolly will play the choir director’s widow, while Queen Latifah plays a military wife with two teens. Shooting will start in January.

Jimmy Wayne is set to co-author a fictional book based on his hit song “Paper Angels.” Negotiations for the book began a year before his Meet Me Halfway campaign. Jimmy will write the book with Travis Thrasher who is known as the “Nicholas Sparks of Christian fiction.” Jimmy’s “Paper Angels” song is based on the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program, which helps bring Christmas gifts to underprivileged kids. Jimmy and his sister Patricia were once recipients of the Angel Tree program. And in case you’re wondering, Jimmy doesn’t plan to write a book about his Meet Me Halfway campaign, Instead, he wants to hand over his journal and have it published as is - misspelled words, bad grammar, scratches, water spots and all.

Rosanne Cash will debut on the New York Times Best Seller list next week with her memoir, Composed. The book outlines her memories growing up as Johnny Cash’s eldest daughter and finding her own place as a performer, daughter, and mother. The book has received amazing reviews and was described by best-selling author Adriana Trigiani as “A lush and glorious memoir that is wise and knowing, humorous and full of hope.”

And finally, Jason Aldean has scheduled his new album, My Kinda Party, for a November 2nd release. The 15-song album also includes a duet with Kelly Clarkson called "Don't You Wanna Stay" and a Southern rap song, "Dirt Road Anthem." Jason recorded the project with his touring band.

The Morning After

Last night, Brooks & Dunn made the 17th stop on the T-shirt. The Last Rodeo Tour passed through Las Cruces and played to a sold out house.

With plenty of hits from which to choose, Kix and Ronnie sang nothing but smash after career-retrospective smash, and seemed to have satisfied everyones most-favorite favorites. Obviously, they couldn't sing every song they've ever recorded, or we would still be in the Pan Am this morning; although at one point, Kix had threatened to sing all night. After all, they were only going home for a few days until the next show on Thursday night in Wichita.

Upstart Tyler Dickerson opened the show with a short set for those who had found had found their seats early. He's an energetic kid and just a doll to talk to. Tyler was nice enough to call The Country Station last Friday. Hearing a sampling of his music is just enough to whet one's appetite for the future. And young ladies, if you thought Tyler was hot, you should see him with the hat!

The curtains dropped for Jason Aldean right on time. The Last Rodeo Tour team runs a very tight show. Thunderous applause welcomed the man who rides around on a "Big Green Tractor." Jason played for about an hour and ran through most of his catalogue of hits. At times, it was hard to tell which song was the crowd's favorite. Let's just say that Jason's visit to Las Cruces was long overdue, and he will be welcomed back anytime he wants to come by.

The men of the hour were met with welcome anticipation. Just putting their name and faces on a video screen beforehand beget screams that could be heard in Mesilla. When Brooks & Dunn walked on stage, the southwest corner of the Pan American center looked like a paparazzi line. Save for a handful of references to Las Cruces, and one point of storytime in the middle, Kix and Ronnie kept it about the music. As mentioned in the song, "The Last Rodeo," give 'em what they came for. Music. Hits. And the unmistakable Ronnie Dunn sound. After all, that's the best part of live shows, when the singer sounds like he (or she) does on the record. There is no hiding that signature voice. Highlights of the show included the military marching out during "Only in America," Reba's face on the video screens during "Cowgirls Don't Cry," and Ronnie Dunn's tattoo story.

At one point in the show, Kix asked how many folks had been at their last Las Cruces show in 1994. He was met with a warm response, which is great to hear how their popularity in town has lasted over the years. But it is also indicative of how many new fans they have gained over the years; and how many young fans were in the audience. Some so young, that they didn't seem as familiar with the catalogue hits as they did the more recent music. Nonetheless, whether it's your 50th show or your first show, The Last Rodeo Tour is a great chance to say you saw the legendary artistry that is Brooks & Dunn.

By all accounts, from screams to items disappearing at the merch stand, there were no unhappy customers on a Sunday night at the Pan Am. But if you had to pick out just one minor disappointment, tell everyone that you were so busy paying attention to where Kix was aiming his T-shirt launcher that you didn't notice that Las Cruces wasn't listed among all the tour cities mentioned on the video screens playing behind the stage. But we're on the T-shirt, so that counts. Ride safely into the sunset, Slim and Howdy.

Lookin' Back on '09 Part III

Zac Brown Band made a name for themselves in 2009. Winning two major awards - ACM Top New Vocal Duo or Group and the CMT Award for USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year, and being nominated for many others - including the three Grammys the group is up for next year - they are very thankful for what they've been able to achieve. Zac Brown Band also recently filmed a CMT Crossroads special with Jimmy Buffett to air next spring on CMT. On a personal note for the year, Zac Brown and his wife also welcomed their third child into the world this fall.

Kenny Chesney played his Sun City Carnival tour to thousands of fans and was ranked on several lists as the highest grossing tour of the year, if not in the top five at least. Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum spent their summer opening for Kenny. He released his Greatest Hits Volume 2 in May and spent several weeks at the top of the Billboard Albums chart. The big change for Kenny this year was the surprise announcement that he would take 2010 off from a major tour and only play a dozen shows. He says he needs some time to recharge and focus on his personal life. But Kenny won’t be sitting on the beach being lazy this next year. He’ll release a 3D film in 2010 and can’t wait for country music fans to experience his show in a theatre.

Jason Aldean celebrated his third number one hit this year with "Big Green Tractor." It spent four weeks at number one; therefore, big green tractors lined Music Row in Nashville to congratulate Jason on his achievement. Jason and Bryan Adams appeared on a CMT Crossroads in June. In August, Jason released a live DVD called Wide Open Live & More which has already been certified Gold.

News From Around The Country
What never really was, now will never be. It’s being reported that Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner have broken up after (maybe) dating for three months. "It wasn't really developing into anything, and wasn't going to, so they decided they were better as friends," a source close to the couple told US magazine. Apparently, there was no chemistry between the two. Meanwhile, readers of USA Today have chosen Taylor’s song, “You Belong With Me” as their favorite track of 2009. The song won with 21 percent of the 3,624 votes that were cast online….. The People’s Choice Awards are coming up on January 6th, broadcast from LA on CBS. Watch for the future Mrs. Mike Fisher, Carrie Underwood. She is nominated for favorite female artist and favorite country artist.

A Big Green Ringtone

Jason Aldean continues to ring phones across the nation. “Big Green Tractor” won the top spot on the Billboard all-genre Ringscan chart. Yes, they keep track of such things. This is great news for country music, since it shows that more people are downloading a country ringtone than they are ringtones from Jay Z, Drake, Mariah Carey, and The Black Eyed Peas. And speaking of the song’s success, it’s been certified Gold for digital sales, and it’s been a four-week chart topper, making Jason the only artist to hold that position in more than 18 months. Brad Paisley’s “Letter to Me” had a four-week run in Feb. 2008.

Ouch! The Young & Wild(er) Tour just started, and Eric Church has already fractured his foot; yet he continues to perform. It happened back on September 4th in Syracuse, but we’re just now hearing about it because Eric refuses to let it affect any of his shows. “As my fans know, I get pretty excited on stage and stomp my feet,” explains Eric. “The combination of the stomping and the fact that our crowds are crazier than ever led to me breaking my foot. I refuse to miss a show over this, so for the time being, I’ll be doing the rest of the shows from a stool. I’m still gonna bring it, and I expect our fans to do the same.” To see what kind of a show Eric does … how ‘bout this little memory from the time that Eric was in Las Cruces to play the NMSU bonfire…..

Another Chance to Buy First

We’re beginning to feel all kinds of privileged here in Las Cruces. Last week, John Arthur Martinez made his new album, Purgatory Road, available for the first time at the Harvest Wine Fest. It’s official release date is tomorrow, so Las Crucens got the CD more than a week before anyone else – including the hard core fans who pre-order! Josh Grider will make his new CD, Sweet Road To Ride, available to fans in Las Cruces on October 1st when he performs at the Southern New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo. That’s five days before its release on October 6th.

'Cause All my rowdy friends play here on Monday Night!

We’ve seen great games all the big names
They’re building blocks in this hall of fame.

Bocephus has won four Emmy awards (1991 – 1994) for his MNF videos, and this year marks an unprecedented 21 years of association with the organization. This year’s opening video presents a Hall of Fame theme; it was shot earlier this summer at the Parthenon in Nashville, TN.

Taylor Swift had a big weekend. Saturday night she played a hometown show in Nashville, with no less in the audience than Tim McGraw and Faith Hill (and probably their three girls.) As a surprise, Taylor invited Faith onstage to sing “The Way You Love Me.” Tim remained in the audience, but he was featured in a video called “Crimes of Passion,” as one of many men who’ve been “vicitims” of Taylor’s songwriting.

Last night was the MTV VMA Awards in New York. Taylor Swift won for Best Female Video for “You Belong With Me.” It was a simple win that might have otherwise gone overlooked in pop culture had it not been for Kanye West stirring the pot. Now it’s something for everyone to talk about. Just after Taylor started her acceptance speech, acknowleging that a country singer is winning a VMA Award, Kanye appeared on stage. "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time," Kanye declared, "One of the best videos of all time!" By the time he gave the mic back to Taylor, her time was up, so she couldn't do much more than leave the stage. The nest presenter, Justin Bieber, made a point of saying, "Taylor Swift deserved that award." Later in the show, Beyoncé called Taylor back to the stage. For his part, when his name was read later in the show to introduce the best male video nominees, Kanye was booed again, and the crowd started chanting Taylor’s name. This kind of a display of disrespect recalls another reaction in 2004, when Gretchen Wilson beat Kanye for the best new artist award at the American Music Awards. He suffered a similar meltdown.

PS: Do you like the new banner? Your humble scribe was feeling creative this weekend. For those that are identification-challenged, the group is (L to R) Taylor Swift, Zac Brown Band, Sugarland, Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean, Bucky Covington, and Tim McGraw.

The boys have been working on special surprises for the occasion, and Joe Don Rooney teases, “I think there’ll be a National Anthem at some point by somebody. I’m just going to throw that out.” Julianne Hough and her brother, Derek Hough, have been nominated in the Outstanding Choreography category in the Primetime Emmy Awards. The Jive piece to “Great Balls of Fire” from Dancing With The Stars is what earned the nomination. The Rock Band Country Track Pack is out. Thursday Stories

Love and Theft have filmed a video for their debut song, “Runaway” at an abandoned brewery in Memphis. Like the song, the video will depict the boys trying to make a fast paced getaway from their mundane existence. And like a lot of video shoots, there were issues. When the video is released in a few weeks, think about this. Stephen Barker Liles was sick all day with food poisoning. And, the engine in the 1971 Mustang Mach 1, featured in the video, had to be rebuilt the morning of the shoot. The car’s power steering later failed during filming with Brian Bandas behind the wheel.

News From Around The Country
John Rich is going to appear on an exclusive 13-artist iTunes page for Frank Sinatra called His Way, Our Way. John sings “One For My Baby, (And One For The Road).” The project is aimed at introducing a younger generation to Sinatra’s music. Michelle Branch has finished her first solo country album and says the project sounds very similar to the work she produced with Jessica Harp as The Wreckers. Lady Antebellum and Tayna Tucker join Darius Rucker as country artists who now have their own iPhone application. Jason Aldean is releasing a club version of his hit “She’s Country” featuring rapper Finesse. And as expected, Brad Paisley debuted his latest CD American Saturday Night at the top of the sales charts. This is the fifth time that Brad has done that with a non-seasonal album.

Little Big Thursday News

Little Big Town recently hosted their third “Ride For A Cure” to benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation. This year’s event was a huge success and raised $52,000 for cancer research.
Karen Fairchild is very proud of the event and says,"We have seen this event double in size every year and we are so grateful for all the artists and fans support. We want to see a cure and we believe TJ Martell has the means and the resources to make that happen in our lifetime. I had the chance to talk to a guy who was riding his brother's bike on Sunday. His brother had passed from cancer two years prior and he was there to ride in his honor. That's the kind of story that fuels this event."

Do you remember when Kenny Chesney opened Lucas Oil Stadium in Indiana last year? There was a big brew-haha because fans weren’t too thrilled with the sound quality. Well this year, before Kenny returns to the stadium, he’s taking matters into his own hands and opening his wallet for a better stadium sound system so his fans will have the best concert experience possible. Total, 700-thousand dollars is being spent upgrading the stadium. Kenny’s pitching in 500-thousand dollars and the other 200-thousand is being covered by the building authority. The amount of speakers will be increased up to 25-percent allowing the upper bowl to actually hear the concert.

News From Around The Country
Jason Aldean has broken his own previous records and gone gold in just 10 weeks! The success of the newest CD Wide Open is due largely in part to the smash single, “She’s Country.” Meanwhile, the Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack has been certified platinum for sales over one million since its release March 24th. Joe Nichols was honored to perform as part of a star-studded line-up at last week's 40th Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards in New York. He sang the Rodgers and Hammerstein composition “If I Loved You” from Carousel.

It's Good To Be Here Another Year

People play outdoors in a lot of ways all summer long. Today just seems like the kind of day to twist the throttle, get dirty, and catch some air over a table top jump! Today’s a special day for your humble scribe, so the featured video from Bucky Covington reminds us that no matter what number is attached to your personal yearly holiday, “It’s Good To Be Us.”

News From Around The Country
Missing your meet and greets with your favorite artists? Due to the recent swine flu concerns, many country artists, such as Miranda Lambert and Jason Aldean, have cancelled the handshake-and-photo-op sessions for precautionary reasons. As health officials continue to reassure the public and more time passes from the initial outbreak, some of the artists are now starting to look at resuming the meet and greet events. Country fans can be optimistic that things will look up for the biggest meet and greet of them all – CMA Music Fest – is just a few weeks away. Speaking of which, among the many other fan-driven activities, Jason Aldean will hold a special concert to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a foundation that funds breast cancer research. Jason Aldean: Concert for the Cure will be held June 12 at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon with special guest Luke Bryan.

Feel Good Friday Briefing

It's another Feel Good Friday here in the Mesilla Valley, and other than the big finale of the Celebrity Apprentice this weekend, the news is slim today. Have a great weekend. And Happy Mother's Day.

News From Around The Country
Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland has been placed on a 10-day vocal rest, forcing the duo to cancel three concerts this week with Keith Urban. Jennifer has been diagnosed with a viral tonsil condition. As a fill-in, Jason Aldean was added as an opening act for Keith Urban’s concert kickoff last night in Uncasville, Connecticut. Little Big Town will now open tonight’s show. The magazines have really been highlighting the pretty people lately. Hello! magazine has put Shania Twain at the top of their Canada’s Most Beautiful List. Shania has never understood why people found her attractive saying, "I don't think I'm ugly, I just think I'm overrated on the cutie factor." Brooks & Dunn and Dierks Bentley received the CMA International Artist Achievement Award this week on the final stop of their Australian Tour in Sydney. And remember, Monday is your last day to vote for the CMT Music Awards. You can use the link at the top of the page.

The Shock of Premature Ejection

Chulianne? How can they eliminate Chulianne? Chuck Wicks was workin’ it like he needed a mirror ball trophy to sustain existence! Yet Chulianne is eliminated in 6th place? Ok, maybe Chuck wasn’t destined to win the whole thing over the obvious favorites; Chulianne has always been middle of the pack material. But 6th place does seem a bit premature. It was a sad night for country music on Dancing With The Stars. At least Chulianne got to show different aspects of their personalities throughout the season, including their kooky side. We'll let the tights fall into that category, Chuck, but last night's variety episode included a skit with Chuck and Julianne playing a matched couple in a spoof of online dating ads called "Dance Match." Appearing later on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Chulianne didn’t seem too upset about being kicked off. Each plans to continue work on their respective sophomore albums and fall back on their country music career. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the night, especially for Len Goodman, Ty Murray lasts longer than Chuck. Maybe going shirtless was the trick. Either that, or there are a whole lot of cowboys that need to admit to watching ballroom dancing! These are probably the same cowboys who wear pink. It’s ok, fellas. The man leading the dance is a very masculine role. Anyway, the Top 5 move on to next week which includes even more dances that will inch them closer to the final. Injured Melissa returned to hear her fate and will be attempting to continue on.

No farewell video blogs yet, so check out Julianne Hough’s behind the scenes tour:

He wants to put some of his favorite recipes in there, including his recipe for fried chicken … or is that said, chicken fried. He hopes the interactive cookbook will be out sometime in the summer. Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts helped deliver a new piano to a Nashville high school on behalf of the Country Music Association and the Nashville Alliance. The two organizations have raised more than 2.2 million dollars for music programs in Metro Nashville Public Schools.

Thursday Briefing

News From Around The Country
Brad Paisley
is still waitin’ on a woman. No little Paisley yet. As expected, Rascal Flatts has the number one album on the Billboard Country Chart and the Billboard 200 Chart with Unstoppable. “Here Comes Goodbye” continues to dominate the singles charts. Miley Cyrus has been given PETA’s Compassionate Citizen Award after taking some chickens from the set of the Hannah Montana movie home as pets. Dog Daze in Hicktown

Last night on Celebrity Apprentice…

Clint Black is still alive and in the Top 8. He and Joan made up, and Joan found a new victim for her venom. Well, ok, Clint and Joan may never be bosom buddies, (Joan said that she would only go to Clint’s concert if the tickets were free), but at this point it’s less likely that Joan and Annie will have a girl’s gambling night out anytime soon. Joan asserted that Annie had said some things to her privately but was changing her story in the boardroom. The alleged change in story put Joan’s daughter, Melissa, in the boardroom hot seat, and Joan was ready to quit if the worst came down. In the end, after a challenge that had both teams creating retail packaging for an identity theft protection service, Brian McKnight was fired for laid back leadership that resulted in a project that was not gravely different from what the company had been doing. Clint’s team used their celebrity to promote the product with humor and clearly won the task. But the celebration was short lived. The Donald called the Top 8 back into the boardroom to assign the next task immediately. The teams were to organize an auction of Ivana Trump’s jewelry. The double-length episode carried on to set the scene for next week’s auction. Last year’s winner, Piers Morgan, returns to help The Donald monitor the action and is given a briefing on this year's characters.

The White House has its First Dog. The Aldean house has its first dog. Jason Aldean and his family recently adopted an 8-week old English bulldog puppy. The pup is the great granddaughter of the University of Georgia mascot, Uga, a name derived from the school’s abbreviation and a tradition that started in 1956 with the first school mascot. Since then, each of the 7 bulldog mascots have been descendants of the original Uga. "I never thought I would have a dog living in my house," Jason said, "I thought the only way that would happen is if they (the University of Georgia) would sell Uga, which they wouldn't do because I tried that. The next best thing was to get a puppy out of that bloodline.” Jason also chose to name his new puppy, Uga, because besides the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs are one of his favorite sports teams. "Those are the two teams that determine what kind of week I'm having!" he jokes. Jason will be singing the national anthem and throwing out the first pitch for the Braves opening game Friday night.

Tuesday Music Store Dance

Chulianne waltzed out of the gate last night on Dancing With the Stars, and Chuck finally got the 8’s he’s been wanting! Remember when Billy Ray Cyrus was on Dancing? He never did achieve that elusive 8. Chuck Wicks got two for continued improvement! Julianne’s coaching on which moves look like a student vs. a professional really helped as Chuck was waltzing Julianne across the dance floor to “Feels Like Today.” See what happens when you give these kids country music to dance to? Hostess Samantha had to ask the obligatory question regarding the drop to one knee at the end of the dance, “Anything we should know?” Chuck was quick to respond, “No!” Overall, all couples stayed in line to where they’ve been placing among the pack. Previous predictions for the bottom of the leader board should hold up, as at this time in the competition it’s just a matter of order as to who goes next. Likely out: Steve-O & Lacey or David & Kym.

Several new CDs are out today that we've been speaking of lately.

Sunday night at the ACM’s, Billy Ray Cyrus pimped the album to 14.1 million viewers. Today Back to Tennessee hits the shelves. The album features 12 new tracks, including another Billy Ray / Miley duet “Butterfly Fly Away,” which will be heard in the Hannah Montana movie. Look for Billy Ray tomorrow (4/8) on Good Morning America and Regis and Kelly, and on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno next Monday (4/13).

Jason Aldean also drops his 3rd studio album, Wide Open, today. Riding the success of the first single, “She's Country,” Jason will be in 8-cities in 8-days to promote the project.
Highlights from the cross-country trek include next Friday's (4/10)appearance on NBC's Today Show, followed by an evening appearances at the Atlanta Braves home season opener to throw out the first pitch and sing the National Anthem. Jason will rock ABC-TV's Jimmy Kimmel Live's outdoor concert series on May 1st.

Tuesday Newsday

It’s a crafter’s dream. Pieces sell out as fast as you can make them. If you’re Miranda Lambert doing the crafting, that’s the problem you face. Miranda started a line of handcrafted jewelry, designing and crafting everything herself. According the endydesigns.com, she’s already sold out. You can look at the website for fun, but it will be awhile before Miranda has time to make more. She’s currently working on her next album and will then be headed on tour with Kenny Chesney.

Randy Travis will release a new anthology, I Told You So: The Ultimate Hits of Randy Travis, on March 17th. The 32-track, two-CD set will feature two new songs, including a new single, “Turn It Around.” However, it does not include any material from his time at DreamWorks Records in the late 1990s. Randy will perform on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on March 13th.

The Big half of Big & Rich, Big Kenny Alphin, is preparing for his next movie roll in the big-screen film Free Like Me. (This isn't Kenny's first big-screen appearance. In 2008, his documentary, Bearing Light: A Journey to Sudan, debuted at the Nashville Film Festival.) The new movie is about a man who is devastated by a loss in his life. He moves to the Caribbean to drink away his cares. He meets a woman. The End. Production is supposed to begin in mid-April in Nashville and the Dominican Republic. It will be a while until it’s released. In the meantime, check out Kenny’s wife, Christiev, unveiling the the first pieces of her Love Everybody jewelry line on QVC March 5th.
