Words From The Wire For Wednesday

Lady Antebellum played two sold-out shows this past Monday in the hometown of both Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley. They were honored by the City of Augusta, Georgia, while they were there. Before their performance, the trio received a key to the city and also had a street named after them. So if you’re ever in Augusta, look for “Lady Antebellum Way.” The city plans to honor the group by naming a new pavilion after them as well. Lady A donated money from Monday’s concerts to the Medical College of Georgia’s Children Medical Center. Dave and Charles also surprised three teachers from their high school alma mater with one-thousand dollar gift cards.

Pam Tillis is writing a new monthly food column for Country Weekly magazine. Her first “Pam & Company” column is featured just in time for Thanksgiving, Pam shares her favorite recipe for sweet potato pie. Pam plans to use some of her own recipes as well as a few others that she’s picked up through the years. Pam promises the featured recipes will be down to earth for the average person, but still be interesting enough that cooks won’t get bored. The dishes also promise to be health conscious. And finally, it’s almost time for the American Music Awards. From country music, Lady Antebellum has been added to the list of presenters. Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Kid Rock, Justin Bieber, and others will be performing. The show will be seen live from Los Angeles on Sunday on ABC. Vote here.
