Taylor vs. Beyonce

And they’re back! Round 2. It's Taylor vs. Beyonce at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. Taylor Swift is nominated once again for the Best Female Video, and is the only country artist nominated for the award show. Anyone want to take a guess who Kanye West will / will not be voting for? Taylor may get to make an entire acceptance speech when the awards air live from Los Angeles on September 12th. Click here to vote for Taylor.

In other Taylor tidbits, she will return to Japan this week to perform at the Summer Sonic Festival on Saturday and Sunday in Oksaka and Tokyo. This is Taylor’s second trip to Japan, as she made a stop in February on her Fearless tour. Before her first visit, she taught herself how to speak Japanese, which she mentioned during her recent webchat with fans.

Brad Paisley will release a double-disc, Hits Alive, on November 2nd. The project includes one disc complete with some of Brad’s favorite hits. The second disc is full of never-released live versions of songs. ….. Jimmy Wayne has donated a pair of his walking shoes from his 1,700-mile trek from Nashville to Phoenix to the Hard Rock Café organization. These shoes will be added to the Hard Rock’s Rock N’ Roll collection and displays. Jimmy won’t be able to enjoy real shoes for a while since broke his foot during the last couple miles of the walk. …. Big Kenny is also doing his part to help homeless children. He recently spent time in Brooksville, Florida, performing to raise money for Operation Heart Felt: Feeding Empty Tummies. Close to $15,000 was raised for the organization which feeds students who rely strictly on school meals for food. …. And finally, details are out about the 25th Anniversary Special for Farm Aid. Willie Nelson’s event will be held in Wisconsin this year, for the very first time at a baseball field – Milwaukee’s Miller Park. The concert which raises awareness and money for American farmers, will host Neil Young, Dave Mathews, John Mellencamp, and many others. Willie says, "Family farmers are the backbone of our country, and right now we need them more than ever.” This year's event will be broadcast live on DirecTV on October 2nd.
