Tuesday Newsday

Super Sunday is coming up. And don’t forget that tomorrow morning, the winner of the Super Sunday Party for 10 will be announced. The winner will get a big screen TV from Sal’s TV Repair, pizza from Papa Murphy’s, wings from Wingstop, and party favors from Budweiser. If you have entered, good luck. Today is your last chance to call in and enter when you hear “touchdown” on the air.

So who’s going to sing the national anthem for the Colts and the Saints? Carrie Underwood. She will be in Miami for Super Bowl XLIV at Sun Life Stadium on February 7th. The performance will be televised live by CBS Sports. In addition, Queen Latifah will sing "America the Beautiful." Carrie is the fifth country artist to sing prior to a Super Bowl game, following the Dixie Chicks (2003), Faith Hill (2000), Garth Brooks (1993) and Charley Pride (1974).

Other than Super Bowl plans, her part in paying tribute to Michael Jackson at the Grammys, what else is on Carrie’s mind. Wedding plans, of course. Carrie was hounded with questions about her upcoming nuptials at the Grammys. She walked the red carpet without her fiancé Mike Fisher and told Ryan Seacrest she couldn’t “feed him to the wolves this early.” She also said the couple is “bouncing around” a few possible wedding dates and their mothers just met recently. Carrie said that with his parents living in Canada and hers in Oklahoma, the logistics of introducing them never worked out until after their engagement. As for details of their wedding, Carrie says they have the major things confirmed but other than that, she really doesn’t care, “I just want to show up and have fun.”
