Feel Good Friday February V

It’s Super Bowl XLIV weekend in Miami! It seems that every part of the entertainment industry is a part of the big game. Country music’s big contribution is Carrie Underwood to sing the National Anthem. But Kenny Chesney is getting his foot in the door as well. Unabashed-football-fan Kenny will be a guest on two ESPN programs this weekend. He will appear on Mike & Mike on ESPN-2 and ESPN Radio. In addition, he'll participate in ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown prior to the game. Kenny has strong ties to the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints. He's a longtime friend of Colts quarterback Peyton Manning and Saints coach Sean Payton. Kenny worked out with Saints during pre-season training camp in 2007 and 2008.

It’s now confirmed that Carrie Underwood will play a supporting role her first studio movie Soul Surfer. The inspirational film is based on the autobiography of 19-year-old champion surfer Bethany Hamilton, who, for over six years, has defied all odds to compete and win professional championships after losing her arm in a shark attack at age thirteen. Carrie will play “Sarah Hill,” a church youth leader. Filming for the movie starts this month in Hawaii.

Kenny Rogers held a press conference last night to announce the filming of an upcoming TV special, Kenny Rogers: The First 50 Years. Special will tape April 10th at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods and include special guests Dolly Parton, Lionel Ritchie, The Oak Ridge Boys, Wynonna, Alison Krauss and many more to be announced. No word yet on when it will air.
