Wednesday Wrap Up

Carrie Underwood will star in her own TV variety special this holiday season. The reigning CMA and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year will perform new music from her upcoming album, Play On, as well as previous hits and holiday classics. Special musical guests include Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and David Cook. Set your DVRs for FOX channel on December 7th.

Could Garth Brooks be coming out of retirement? Rumors have been swirling for awhile that Garth would be taking over as a resident headliner at a Las Vegas hotel. Tomorrow, Garth is flying members of the Nashville media to an unknown destination for an exclusive press conference. Stay tuned for the big announcement.

Julianne Hough will be co-starring with Christina Aguilera in the new musical Burlesque. Christina makes her big screen debut as a young small-town singer who becomes a star at a Hollywood burlesque club owned by a character played by Cher. Julianne will play a fellow dancer. Filming starts next month and the movie is due to hit theaters next Thanksgiving.
