Taylor Swift took home Favorite Country Artist last night during the People's Choice Awards. Elton John presented her with the award and Taylor congratulated him on becoming a father once taking the microphone. Taylor brought her brother and his girlfriend as her guests. Later in the show Taylor presented Johnny Depp with the Favorite Male Actor award. Depp took the microphone for his acceptance speech and immediately turned to Taylor and said, "My daughter said if I didn't say hi to you I'd be in trouble, so hi from my daughter." Depp's daughter, Lily-Rose, is 11.
Country trio Lady Antebellum celebrate another milestone in their career as their album Need You Now is confirmed as the #2 best-selling album of 2010, across all genres. The title track to Lady A’s album also ranked #10 in Billboard’s Top 10-Selling Digital Songs of 2010. With regards to the third position, Taylor has had an album place in the Top-10 selling albums list every year since 2007.
