More End of the Year Numbers

Country made its mark on the 2010 year-end Mediabase charts with some of the most-heard artists and songs around the country. In the Top 15 Overall Artists chart, Taylor Swift ranked at #5, while Lady Antebellum marked in at #9. Lady A also topped the list of Country’s Most Played Artists with hits like, “I Need You Now,” and “American Honey”. The most played song on country radio for 2010 was Josh Turner’s “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” followed by Joe Nichols’ “Gimme That Girl”.

Looking ahead to next year, The 46th annual Academy of Country Music Awards are set to take place on April 3rd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The awards will be followed by a special television taping of Girls’ Night Out: Superstar Women of Country. The special will spotlight the talented women in the country music world with a line-up of the biggest acts in country, which will be announced soon. Tickets will benefit the ACM Lifting Lives foundation, and will go on sale January 19th.
