Awards And Potential iGarth

The bell has rung on another round of the Teen Choice Awards. Sunday night in Los Angeles, Taylor Swift won four trophies for choice country artist, country song ("Fifteen") and country album (Fearless), and the female breakout award for her movie role in Valentine's Day. Taylor is currently in Japan and accepted her awards via satellite. Keith Urban claimed an award for male country artist while Lady Antebellum won for country group.

In other Taylor tidbits, she and the Dave Mathew’s Band will perform live before the New Orleans Saints first season game with the Minnesota Vikings on September 9th. NBC slipped the news in during a commercial break of the NFL’s Hall of Fame Game Sunday night. This game will kick off the 2010 National Football League season.

Alan Jackson is set to receive a special tribute at the ASCAP Awards next month. Alan will receive the Founder’s Award, which is given to songwriters or composers who have made contributions to music by influencing future music creators. Garth Brooks, Billy Joel, Emmylou Harris, and James Taylor have previously won the award.

And speaking of Garth Brooks, there’s a possibility that your drought of digital Garth could be coming to an end. Garth has made a catalog of songs available for licensing with the Harry Fox Agency. The permission to allow his songs to be available for licensing may be one step closer to the release of his songs on iTunes. Though Garth is one man who said he would never release a single song to a digital music company, Harry Fox Agency said they will provide Garth with endless business support opportunities.
