Wednesday Wrap Up

News From Around The Country
A series of Christmas albums are set to be repackaged as holiday DVDs and released on October 6th. Six of the albums will be from country artists, including Brooks & Dunn, Johnny Cash, Kenny Chesney, John Denver, Martina McBride and Brad Paisley. As DVDs, you’ll be listening to the artist’s music while holiday imagery like yule logs, cozy cottages, or snowy cabins go by on the screen. … Miley Cyrus will make a brief appearance in Sex and the City 2. Miley has a scene where she shows up to a red-carpet event in the same dress as Kim Cattrell’s character, “Samantha.” … Faith Hill and Tim McGraw spent their Saturday in Las Vegas. Tim was headinling a benefit concert at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel-casino to help raise money for the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy. Tim even performed with American Idol's Chris Daughtry. …. Lorrie Morgan will release an album of classic songs, A Moment in Time, on Oct. 27. The album features duets like “After the Fire Is Gone” with Tracy Lawrence and “Easy Lovin’” with Raul Malo. Other cuts include “Are You Lonesome Tonight,” “Cry” and “If You’ve Got Leavin’ on Your Mind.” ….

And finally, a word from Rockingham, North Carolina. Hometown boy Bucky Covington was in town last Saturday night for his first hometown concert since the American Idol days. September 26th was declared “Bucky Covington Day” in Rockingham by Mayor Gene McLaurin. The concert was a benefit for the local organization Backpack Pals, which provides meals on the weekend to underprivileged children who typically eat at school programs all week. Also, while Bucky was onstage, cameras were rolling to capture footage for among other things, the video for his new single, “Gotta Be Somebody.” Look for more on Bucky’s return to his hometown on the video channels.
