“I’ve learned to be resourceful,” said
Big Kenny, describing his studies since grade school. When you don’t know the answer – look it up – or cheat. And cheat he did. Big Kenny copied off his classmates papers when necessary, took their help and advice, did fairly well on his own, and ultimately answered all the questions up to the $25,000 level. All he missed was the math question, “If Malachi has 10 dozen video games, how many scores of video games does he have?” The correct answer is six. Then it came time for the bonus round. $250,000 looked more enticing than the consolation prize of $2500, so Big Kenny had to at least take the chance. It was a world history question. And it was clear that he didn’t know about the Spanish conquistadors who originally explored what is now modern day New Mexico and Arizona. Remembering the old saying,

“It is better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all,” Kenny locked in his final answer of “Christopher Columbus” and unfortunately lost all that he had won. Big Kenny walked away with the $2500 for his charity,
Love Everybody, an organization he described as doing good work around the world, including the recent building of a school in rural Sudan.
