Lee Greenwood has accepted a Presidential appointment to the National Endowment for the Arts council. Appointed by President George W. Bush, Lee was sworn in last week as one of the 14 regular members of the council. "My appointment to the council of the National Endowment of the Arts is a great opportunity for me to be involved in searching out the best in art in our American culture and to lend a hand to help develop talented artists and artistic programs that would otherwise go unnoticed," Lee said. He will serve a six year term, making him the lone council member appointed by Bush who will serve throughout the four years of President-elect Obama's term. The other 13 slots are occupied by Bush appointees, but will come due during the next Presidential term.
If you’ve wondered where Trent Tomlinson’s been, the answer is ‘on the road.’ It’s been a while since Trent has had fresh music on The Country Station, but that will be changing soon. Trent joins the gang of artists who will all be putting out their sophomore CDs in 2009. Fans have had a preview of the new music at Trent’s live concerts all summer long. "It's more of the same kind of music that was on Country Is My Rock, yet it's more about what's going on in my life now," Trent says of his new album. "My life has changed since I got married and have a new baby, so there's a lot of songs about family, songs about my wife, songs about living life ... But there are still drinking songs on there though!"
