Scotty Draws Interest To Baseball

Scotty McCreery is playing his final season of baseball with Garner High School in North Carolina. Between touring with Brad Paisley, last year’s American Idol champ finds time to pitch for his hometown team. While he’s not always there to practice with his teammates, Scotty tells ESPN he and his dad will throw while on the road, just to stay active. Before his rise to fame in music, Garner High games would bring about a dozen spectators, according to Scotty. But, since his time on Idol, they’re seeing around 100-150 in the crowd, with fans traveling from around the country to see him play ball. Scotty also told ESPN that players on the opposite teams talk smack on the field, saying, “Oh, ‘American Idol’ kid’s throwing,” “Stick to singing!” But, he says he gets the “last laugh” when he gets them out later in the game.

Dierks Goes Crazy For New Music Video

Dierks Bentley had tons of fun on the set of his new music video for “5-1-5-0.” Dierks and his crew ventured to a motocross park to play music and go mudding, and he even brought his Chevy truck “Big White” along for the fun. Dierks said,  "We went and checked one out down in Georgia – just outside of Savannah. It was a chance to put the truck on the back of the bus and take it down there and just hang out with these people all day long – play music. It was the most fun video shoot I’ve ever done. It didn’t even feel like a video shoot.” Many people that stopped by the motocross park that day found themselves as extras in the music video. One spectator said that Dierks performed from the bed of his truck at one point! The music video for “5-1-5-0” is expected to be released in about a month.

Alan On The Opry

Alan Jackson will take the stage on the Grand Ole Opry tonight. He plans to debut new songs from his forthcoming album, Thirty Miles West. Alan tells fans, despite the changing times; his music has stayed the same, “My voice has gotten a little deeper sounding to me, I think, ‘cause I’ve gotten older. I don’t know that I’ve changed that much musically. I still have always recorded songs—I’ve tried to—that are just fun things like ‘Chattahoochee’ and then much later you have like ‘5 O’Clock Somewhere.’ And then I’ve had songs from heartache like ‘Wanted’ in my early career that are not dissimilar to this song that’s out now.” Alan’s current single, “So You Don’t Have To Love Me Anymore,” is the latest off his upcoming album, due in stores June 5th.
