DJs Are Crazy For Betting On A Song

It’s official! Bob Kingsley said so! Congrats to Billy Currington for another number one song – “People Are Crazy.” And because it went number one, no one at The Country Station will be eating socks! Stay tuned as Sheila and Ernesto’s bet comes to a payoff!
In lesser joyous news for Billy Currington, he was injured Saturday night when the stage he was performing on at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta, Canada collapsed due to heavy winds. One person died, two others remained in critical condition Sunday, and 75 people were injured. Billy had just finished his performance and the crew was working a set change when the accident happened. Still being nearby, Billy and his bassist, Shaun Smith, sustained non-threatening injuries. Below the stage, Kevin Costner and his band, Modern West, were getting ready to perform when the collapsed occurred, reportedly injuring Kevin, his road manager, and two band members. The remainder of the festival was cancelled.

Taylor Swift – movie star! She’s acted in videos and TV, so it was only a matter of time until the big screen came calling – again. Taylor appeared in the Hannah Montana: The Movie. Now she joins the cast of Valentine’s Day, a romantic comedy feature film that boasts an all-star cast including Ashton Kutcher, Shirley MacLaine, Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx and Taylor Lautner, among others. The Garry Marshall-directed film follows five interconnected stories set in Los Angeles on Valentine's Day. It is being produced by New Line and expected to be released just prior to Valentine's Day in 2010.

And finally, ever heard of a “Twittow?” Apparently, Kimberly Williams-Paisley made up the term to describe women who have been abandoned by their male counterparts for the internet service Twitter. Kimberly’s husband Brad Paisley is one of those men addicted to the webservice – and he tweets regularly about Kimberly’s chidings. But like they say, if you can’t beat ‘em – join ‘em. Kimberly is now a tweeter, too.
