Thursday Stats

It could be called the 3rd Annual Larry The Cable Guy Christmas Special, but he keeps changing the name. First it was the Larry The Cable Guy Christmas Spectacular, and then it was the Larry The Cable Guy Star Studded Christmas Extravaganza, and this year it will be Larry The Cable Guy’s Hula-Palooza Christmas Luau. Watch for it to start airing on CMT on November 20th. Billy Currington and Zac Brown Band will guest star. Next year, Larry jokes, “It will be the Larry The Cable Guy Christmas Lulau Palooza Extravaganza Night of 65 B stars.”

Taylor Swift has made history once again as her album Fearless takes the number one spot on the Billboard Country Album charts for the 20th week. Taylor joins Garth Brooks and Shania Twain as the only country artists in the Billboard SoundScan era to have two albums spend 20 weeks at #1 on the Top Country Albums sales chart. Her self-titled debut CD, released 143 weeks ago (in 2006), also remains one of country’s top sellers, claiming the #11 spot on the sales chart this week. Taylor’s career CD sales to date now top 7.75 million albums, her paid song downloads now exceed 18 million, and her MySpace music streams are over 246 million.

And finally, for fun, were you married to any of the following tunes? For a British poll, 2000 wedding videographers were asked to name the top 10 songs people request for their first dance. 3 of the Top 10 are country. Here are the results.
