Singin' For the Prez

Good news for those who could not get to Washington, DC tonight to see Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss perform for President Obama. The show with Brad, Alison, and Charley Pride will be streamed LIVE tonight on the White House website. President Obama is scheduled for opening remarks at 5:25 PM (our time / MT). White House staff and members of Congress will also attend. The event is part of the White House music series, hosted by Michelle Obama.

We know Tim McGraw is getting ready to release a new CD, and the new single, “It’s A Business Doing Pleasure With You,” is being heard on The Country Station. What else has Tim been up to lately? Filming his next big screen movie. After an 8-week shoot in Atlanta, Tim just wrapped the film The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock. Tim plays Bullock’s husband in the film and together, the couple takes in a homeless teen and helps him fulfill his potential. The story is based on the true story of Michael Oher who was a first round draft pick this year, drafted by the Baltimore Ravens. The Blind Side also stars Kathy Bates and Lily Collins. There’s no word on a release date.

Trace Adkins has been drawn as an action hero named “Luke McBain” for a new comic book. The four-issue comic book series will be launched in November by 12 Gauge Comics. “Luke” is described in a press release as "a tough Southern hero." The story takes place when “Luke” returns home to rural Louisiana after serving 14 years in prison, having taken the fall for a crime he didn't commit. He finds himself in a town now controlled by greed and corruption, and he's the only one with the courage to set things right. The comic book will sell for just under four-dollars per issue.
