The BMI Pop Awards were held Tuesday night in Los Angeles and Taylor Swift took home two awards. One was the Pop award for “Teardrops on My Guitar.” She also took home the BMI President’s Award which is only given out when an artist comes along and “distinctly and profoundly,” influences music.
If you were watching closely during Tuesday night’s America Idol you may have noticed Carrie Underwood limping off stage. She told Ryan Seacrest that the limp was because of an injury. She fell during a three mile run near her home in Nashville and a kind woman who saw her fall offered to take her back home. Although she normally wears a dress or shorts when performing, Carrie decided jeans and boots would be best considering her injury doesn’t look very pretty.
And finally, a couple of rumors worth watching. Rapper Chris Brown is looking for a country artist to appear on a song for his upcoming album. His producer admitted to Eonline! that the song is recorded but needs a female country voice, such as Carrie Underwood, to complete the tune. Recently, Taylor Swift has mentioned she would like to be featured on a rap song, but she listed Lil Wayne as the number one rapper she’d like to work with. It’s also been said that Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford will officially be replacing Zac Efron in the Footloose remake. E! Online reports that Miley Cyrus is being considered for the female lead. It’s also been reported that Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes and Julianne Hough have also auditioned for the part of “Ariel Moore.” We’ll keep you posted.
