Country Artists Meet Jobs In The Real World

Clint Black started his quest to be the Celebrity Apprentice last night on NBC. The first episode introduced the men’s and women’s teams, KOTU and Athena respectively. KOTU is an acronym for Kings of the Universe. Clint remained on task, yet seemed to follow Trace Adkins’ example from last year by playing the role of the quiet country boy. The teams were made to bake cupcakes and sell them on the streets of New York for charity. After baking hundreds of cupcakes, Clint decided to taste one and realized that they forgot the sugar. Proven to be disgusting, the men tried to salvage the tasteless treats by soaking them with liquid syrup, an effort at which comedian Tom Green humorously remarked, “It’s like putting perfume on a t**d.” …And away we go with the new season! The men’s ruined cupcakes did raise some $49,000, but it wasn’t enough to beat the ladies, who set up shop outside the Playboy building and invited playmate Brande Roderick’s friends down to raise the Hef-ty part of $61,000. After another one of the heated boardroom discussions that made the show famous, Donald Trump put Clint on the spot and asked who he should fire. Clint suggested Andrew Dice Clay. He was right. The Donald said, “Andrew – You’re Fired!”

Ever wonder what artists do when the string of hits runs dry? For ‘90’s hitmaker Jeff Carson (“Not On Your Love,” “The Car,” “Holdin’ Onto Somethin’”), the choice was law enforcement. Jeff is now a full-time police officer for the city of Franklin, TN. “Being in law enforcement was something that I’ve always wanted to do,” Jeff says. He added that he looked upon his graduation from the Tennessee State Police Academy in December as his “proudest moment.” Jeff graduated with honors. His shooting average was 99.6 -nearly a top gun!
