Amid the flurry of new albums coming out this spring, Collin Raye will have new offering. This time around, Collin promises, “This is the album I’ve always wanted to do.” Ironically, Never Going Back will revisit a bygone era of music. Gone are the backtracks and overdubs; what you’ll here is pure laid back music reminiscent of the folk rock of the mid 70’s. Collin promises an artsy album that sounds like it belongs in a smoky club. The CD will be out April 28th.
Kenny Rogers is also talking about going back in time on his next CD. Kenny will re-visit the success of his past with a new duet with Dolly Parton. Kenny says, “Dolly and I have had great success. It's been a long time since we've done something together, so it should have some commercial viability." No word on when it will be out.
Faith Hill is among a smattering of artists who are offering autographed iPod Nanos on ebay. Each artists iPod is loaded with eight gigabytes of their favorite music. Brisk bidding underway at eBay, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting Music Rising. The non-profit organization supports Gulf Coast schools, churches and communities in rebuilding music programs and replacing instruments lost or damaged in Hurricane Katrina.
And finally, mark your calendars for Earth Hour on March 28. Several country stars have.
