T.G.I.F.

Toby Keith has been honored by the U.S. House of Representatives with a House Resolution for his support of the Armed Forces. Congressman Tom Cole (R-OK) introduced the House Resolution in June. The House passed the measure on September 17th. “I appreciate Congressman Cole’s recognition in introducing this resolution,” says Toby, “and I have to say the real glory belongs to those men and women I’ve met who leave their families and put it on the line for the rest of us. Getting to visit with them once a year is the biggest honor for me, and I will encourage other artists and performers to make that USO trip.” Toby has participated in USO tours to Belgium, Kosovo, Italy, Germany and Afghanistan.

Blake Shelton is slated to record his #1 song “Home” with the man who originally wrote and recorded it, Michael Buble. The collaboration will appear on the CD Hit Man: David Foster and Friends. Blake will also sing his version of the 1973 Skylark hit “Wildflower” on which Foster plays the keyboard. The collaboration album will be out November 11th and also features performances from Boz Scaggs, Celine Dion, Brian McKnight and Andrea Bocelli.

Kellie Pickler will return to NBC’s Today Show to launch her sophomore album the same way she launched her debut album two years ago. Since its debut, Small Town Girl has sold nearly 800,000 copies, and has garnered Kellie several award nominations including the recent CMA Top New Artist nod. Regarding her return visit Kellie said, “The last time I was on the show they were doing a pet adoption segment and a Chihuahua peed on me. I can’t wait to find out what the next adventure will be. I’m so proud of this album, and I can’t wait to share it.” Watch for Kellie on Tuesday, September 30th.
