Sugarland Sweetens Up New Mexico

Sugarland was back on stage last in Albuquerque for their first show since the horrific stage collapse that happened just before their concert at the Indiana State Fair last weekend. The accident killed five people and injured many others. In a message posted on their website, the duo shared that the incident helped bring their touring family closer together and that they believe music can be used as a “healer.” Before their show in Albuquerque, fans were asked to make a donation to the relief fund in Indiana. It was also reported that stagehands wore t-shirts honoring their colleague, Nathan Bird, who lost his life in the collapse. Jennifer led a moment of silence before the concert began. Sugarland plans to hold a private memorial for the victims in Indiana at a later date.

Brad Paisley rocked London’s O2 Arena this past week for a full house of British fans. The show’s encore brought the audience a huge surprise as Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood joined Brad to perform “Let the Good Times Roll” and “Alcohol” with Darius Rucker. Brad’s European tour continues this weekend with three shows in Ireland and four shows in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark next week.

The first time I heard of Lady A was when they were announced as an opening act for a concert I was attending. I've NEVER been so blown away by an unknown band before, and they do NOT disappoint on their debut album! The songs have a lyrical style reminiscent of legends like Carole King and James Taylor, and the harmonies of the three singers are flawless. I especially appreciate that H. Scott and C. Kelley share lead vocal responsibilities throughout the album. A MUST HAVE for any country/folk music fan...and I even encourage Top 40 fans to give them a listen!
