Memorial Day Weekend in the Valley: wine, women, and song! Er, wine, men, women, children, and song. The Southern New Mexico Wine Fest played out under three days of sunshine and brought record numbers of wineries, artisans, and spectators to the fairgrounds. Featured on Sunday’s country music day were singer-songwriter Terry Bullard, as well as Tim McGraw tribute artist, Adam D. Tucker. Stay tuned for a little peek at what you may have missed at the wine fest.

News From Around The Country
Sugarland, Lady Antebellum and Zac Brown Band have all earned new certifications from the RIAA for their album sales. Sugarland earned a triple-Platinum certification for the sale of three million copies of their 2006 album Enjoy the Ride. Lady Antebellum and Zac Brown Band have gone double-Platinum for their respective albums Need You Now and The Foundation.

Trace Adkins is being honored with the Medal of Honor from the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, DAR, in recognition of his patriotism and humanitarian works. The award will be presented on June 5th by the Nashville DAR Sarah Polk Chapter. The DAR is a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing America’s future through better education for children.
