Tim McGraw’s Academy Award nominated film The Blind Side is in stores on DVD today. …. Carrie Underwood’s "All-American Girl" will be available as a single-track download for Rock Band users next week. ….. On April 6th, The Band Perry will release a five-song EP that contains the band’s first single, “Hip To My Heart.” For the first four weeks, it will only be available for download through iTunes. ….. Jo Dee Messina will release her first new album in six years on April 27th –the first EP of a three piece set. Unmistakable: Love will feature seven new songs, and two live acoustic sets, followed later this year by Unmistakable: Drive and Unmistakable: Inspiration.
And while we’re talking about release, it’s nice to note that the Universal Music Group will be lowering its CD prices. UMG is the world's largest music company. Its country division consists of the MCA, Mercury and Lost Highway labels and a combined artist roster featuring George Strait, Sugarland, Josh Turner, Billy Currington and Shania Twain, among others. By lowering prices to ten dollars or less, the format will become more competitive with the prices charged for digital downloads. Along with lowering the prices, UMG plans on increasing the creation of deluxe CD packages that will feature bonus tracks and other added content. The process is expected to begin during the second quarter of 2010.
