Dog Daze in Hicktown

Last night on Celebrity Apprentice

Clint Black is still alive and in the Top 8. He and Joan made up, and Joan found a new victim for her venom. Well, ok, Clint and Joan may never be bosom buddies, (Joan said that she would only go to Clint’s concert if the tickets were free), but at this point it’s less likely that Joan and Annie will have a girl’s gambling night out anytime soon. Joan asserted that Annie had said some things to her privately but was changing her story in the boardroom. The alleged change in story put Joan’s daughter, Melissa, in the boardroom hot seat, and Joan was ready to quit if the worst came down. In the end, after a challenge that had both teams creating retail packaging for an identity theft protection service, Brian McKnight was fired for laid back leadership that resulted in a project that was not gravely different from what the company had been doing. Clint’s team used their celebrity to promote the product with humor and clearly won the task. But the celebration was short lived. The Donald called the Top 8 back into the boardroom to assign the next task immediately. The teams were to organize an auction of Ivana Trump’s jewelry. The double-length episode carried on to set the scene for next week’s auction. Last year’s winner, Piers Morgan, returns to help The Donald monitor the action and is given a briefing on this year's characters.

The White House has its First Dog. The Aldean house has its first dog. Jason Aldean and his family recently adopted an 8-week old English bulldog puppy. The pup is the great granddaughter of the University of Georgia mascot, Uga, a name derived from the school’s abbreviation and a tradition that started in 1956 with the first school mascot. Since then, each of the 7 bulldog mascots have been descendants of the original Uga. "I never thought I would have a dog living in my house," Jason said, "I thought the only way that would happen is if they (the University of Georgia) would sell Uga, which they wouldn't do because I tried that. The next best thing was to get a puppy out of that bloodline.” Jason also chose to name his new puppy, Uga, because besides the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs are one of his favorite sports teams. "Those are the two teams that determine what kind of week I'm having!" he jokes. Jason will be singing the national anthem and throwing out the first pitch for the Braves opening game Friday night.
