If you’ve been wondering what happened to CMT Music Award voting season, it’s not here yet. Our friends at CMT have decided that this year’s CMT Music Awards will take place on June 17th. Voting will begin on April 13th. Further info about the show will be released soon. And just so you know which of your favorite videos you should be actively supporting, the eligibility period for this year’s awards spans videos aired on CMT January 18, 2008 through February 23, 2009.

Award season also includes the Grammys. Nominees Kenny Chesney, Coldplay, Jonas Brothers, Lil Wayne, and Katy Perry are the first performers announced for the 51st Annual Grammy® Awards telecast, on Sunday, February 8th. The event will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 Surround Sound on CBS-TV and on radio via Westwood One worldwide, and covered online at Grammy.com and CBS.com, on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and on Last.fm. You can’t miss it.

Here’s some good news, Country Weekly Magazine is going to match its title again. Editor-in-chief Larry Holden says, “Country Weekly launched 15 years ago as a weekly and that’s what we’ll be again. We’ve done extensive research and this is something our readers want. We’re going back to our roots.” With that, American Media, Inc. announces that it is increasing the frequency of America’s best-selling country music magazine to 52 times per year. The change becomes effective with the March 2nd issue. At the same time, the cover price will drop a dollar, and more valuable features are promised.

And finally, don’t miss the music of Whiskey Falls on a new TV series. The band has been tapped to create all the music and the theme song for the upcoming Spike TV series Toughest Cowboy, a eight-episode, one hour series from world-renowned producer Mark Burnett. The sports-competition reality series premieres Thursday, January 29. Whiskey Falls will also make appearances on the Toughest Cowboy Live Tour.
