Egg-citing News

Keith Urban has announced the string of opening acts that he will be taking out on the 58-city Escape Together North American Tour. Which of the 7 opening acts will play in which cities is still being sorted out, but Sugarland will be the band Monkeyville fans will see most often as they are on board for 21 of the dates. Taylor Swift will show up 10 times, Jason Aldean will be by a half a dozen times, as will Lady Antebellum. The Zac Brown Band got four dates, Dierks Bentley got a couple, and the only time you’ll see Glen Campbell open for Keith Urban will be in Las Vegas.

Toby Keith also has a big tour planned. Although he is taking his tour back to the military personnel overseas. "I've been all over the world and there's no place that can touch the U.S., so we have to defend this soil vigilantly," Toby said, “And we have people willing to volunteer to go put themselves in harm's way for what their government has asked them to do -- the key word being 'asked' here. And so I feel like it's my duty every year to take about 14 or 17 days and go over there." Despite the war zone dangers in the regions he tours, this spring’s seventh USO tour will take Toby to Afghanistan and Iraq. Safer travels are wished upon Toby and his touring companions. During the last USO Tour, one of his shows was disrupted by a mortar attack at a U.S. military base in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Wynonna will guest star on the NBC series Kath & Kim. The episode will have Molly Shannon and Selma Blair’s characters competing to host a dinner for Wynonna, but they have to be interviewed by Wynonna's people first. Wackiness ensues from there. Look for the episode on Thursday, February 5th. LeAnn Rimes is working with songwriter Darrell Brown to pen a book based on their song “What I Cannot Change.” The 128-page inspirational book will tell through pictures and stories how people have experienced their own journeys of change. The release date is April 14. And finally, the T.J. Martell Foundation has named their 2009 Celebrity Ambassadors. This year’s names to watch for at charitable activities are Brooks & Dunn, Charlie Daniels, Diana DeGarmo, Little Big Town, Montgomery Gentry, Jimmy Wayne, Darryl Worley, and Chely Wright.
