One Week Until Christmas! Ho! Ho! Ho!

Just 7 shopping days until Christmas! Mail and delivery service people are workin’ hard, and The Country Station is in a year-end mood.

Day 3 voting on the listener poll saw Blake Shelton fans go bananas for “Home,” while Carrie Underwood’s contention for second place is not “Just A Dream.” Bucky Covington is still holding on to a position in the finals, as is Darius Rucker. With all the other songs in a dead heat, only your votes will determine which songs from Group 1 move on to match five songs from next week’s Group 2 in the finals. Thanks for voting. The poll is to the right.

News From Around The Country
Speaking of fan voting, the People’s Choice Awards are on January 27th. Carrie Underwood is nominated for favorite female singer in all genres, so she will get to perform. TV audiences will see a small piece of the show that swung through Las Cruces in November and went on to make Carrie the top selling country female touring artist of 2008. The Carnival Ride Tour boasted attendance figures close to 1.2 million.
Carrie will also be seen on Saturday “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” with Julianne Hough and Martina McBride. The trio will appear on the Grand Ol’ Opry on Saturday night the 20th on GAC. Also on TV, Lady Antebellum. The trio will be in New York on Christmas Eve to perform on NBC’s Today Show.

Christmas With The Stars
It's the thought that counts, right? Faith Hill admits she always intends to send holiday cards, but she never actually gets around to putting stamps on them. "I've not been so good the last couple of years," Faith said. "I actually buy the cards, but they never make it out of my house. I've even addressed them, and they've not made it out of my house. It's horrible. Isn't it awful? It's just such a waste. So I have to go back and take the pictures out, then I've got a pile of pictures that I never send." It’s interesting that those pictures in the cards she never sends are candid family photos. Faith admits that she, Tim, and their three girls have never taken a family portrait together.
