Hot Duos and Reba

Sugarland is the first of our hot duos. Last week’s release of the Deluxe Fan Edition of Love on the Inside sold 314,000 copies, enough to make it number one on the Billboard Country Albums Chart next week. This is the first time a Sugarland CD will debut at the top of the charts. The first two CD’s, Twice The Speed of Life and Enjoy The Ride peaked at numbers 3 and 2 respectively. The 314-thousand albums sold was the best week of sales by any country act since The Eagles unloaded 359-thousand copies of Long Road Out of Eden last fall. The big sales week also landed Sugarland second on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart – right behind Miley Cyrus.

The next hot duo is Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. Over the weekend, the two entertainers performed a show together in Michigan as somewhat of an experiment. Miranda sang a set. Blake sang a set. They performed together, and then one more round a piece separately. The crowd loved it. Now plans are coming together for a fall tour co-starring the lovebirds. Blake jokes that they’re only touring together in order to see each other more often. Miranda says, "I think people will enjoy it, because besides Faith [Hill] and Tim [McGraw], there aren't a lot of couples who can go out there and do what we're doing. So we're really happy to be working together."

Reba McEntire is returning to television. She’s hosting a new PBS program called Toddling Toward Reading, which is expected to debut in September. The show will focus on the critical years before kindergarten and what educators are doing to get toddlers on the road to reading.
