My Country Singer went to Spain, and all I got was...

Gary Allan sings about it, Kix Brooks actually did it! Kix took a try at running with the bulls earlier this week. The event is the kickoff of the Festival of San Fermin in Pamplona, Spain. It’s not for the faint of heart. The runners and the bulls are all crammed together along the narrow streets of the old city. Kix says he knew the bulls were close, "Oh, I got close! I mean, they...they come...it's a very narrow street that they run down and we get ...they give the runners a head start on them. But you can run as fast as you want and you won't outrun 'em." Kix may have been luckier than he knows. United Press International reports 13 people were injured during this year's running of the bulls, including one person with “gashed ribs.”

Following the tradition he began last year, Larry The Cable Guy will be doing another Christmas special for CMT. "We had so much fun last year trying to recreate one of those old Christmas specials from the '70s, we thought we'd try doing it every year," Larry said. The 2008 edition of Larry The Cable Guy’s Star Studded Christmas Extravaganza will include appearances by Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry, Tony Orlando, comedian Lewis Black, and Fred Willard. A DVD of the special will be released following the show's premiere on CMT in November.

And after a long chart absence, pretty Patty Loveless will be putting out another album in September. Produced with her husband and musical soul mate, Emory Gordy Jr., and backed by a Who's Who of Nashville A-list session players, Sleepless Nights will feature 14 titles and background vocals by Vince Gill. "Emory and I were talking over dinner about recapturing some of these moments from my youth," Patty explains, "because I want to inspire and remind people of what country is made of." The CD will include Patty’s take on classics like “There Stands The Glass”; “Please Help Me I’m Falling”; and “Cold, Cold Heart.”
